Objectives

The Ernst Busch University of Performing Arts specialises exclusively in theatre arts and focuses its internationalisation strategy on excellence and continuity. Carefully selected partnerships form the the backbone of our transcultural commitment and global presence. The Erasmus project is centred on partnerships based on similar teaching methods and comparable curricula. The programme promotes the exchange of different theatre traditions and forms and has become an integral part of the European context. During their stays abroad and beyond, students and academic staff are actively involved in the process of bridging the gap between different concepts of performing arts and different ways of expressing creativity and political awareness on stage, in film and in the independent scene. Intercultural knowledge is reflected by the artistic work of the participants who incorporate different artistic approaches and foreign experiences into their stage plays and performances. Apart from academic and artistic exchanges, administrative staff are also encouraged to use opportunities like job shadowing and traineeships at partner universities in order to optimise workflows and organisational structures at the home institution.
