Objectives

Since its launch in 1987, the Erasmus programme has been by far the largest mobility programme at RWTH Aachen University in terms of numbers and has shaped RWTH's international profile and internationalization strategy. Participation in the Erasmus programme gives our students, researchers, teachers and administrative staff the opportunity to strengthen their professional and personal development as well as to improve their career opportunities and their ability to interact in international multilateral networks. In addition, the Erasmus programme allows its participants to experience European citizenship. Attractive mobility grants, which take into account the social and economic backgrounds of mobility participants, facilitate access to the Erasmus programme. The Erasmus programme not only enables RWTH Aachen University to be represented abroad, but also helps to make it more visible as a brand. RWTH Aachen University is committed to providing all members with an intercultural and academically stimulating environment for study, research and work. Erasmus incoming students are seen as an enrichment and are warmly welcomed. This is not least to enable our RWTH students to gain an international experience at home.
