The University of Siegen is a medium-sized university in the center of Germany with a broad range of degrees. The Erasmus+ program is the largest funding scheme for international mobility. The program contributes substantially to the University’s guiding principle Shaping a Humane Future by enabling mobility, facilitating collaboration, and maintaining long-lasting partnerships among partners in the program countries. This funding covers most student exchanges, and the regional focus mirrors the student's interest in other European countries. Having a study abroad experience is an important part of a well-rounded university education. The goal of this project was to increase the number of student mobilities and address all the uncertainties students have developed in recent years concerning study abroad. Raising awareness about the program, its support, and its benefits – both academically and socially – were supposed to support the catching-up process after the pandemic years. The second priority was to prepare the new top-ups. In summary, the University did manage to change the trend and increase the number of mobile students. However, more marketing and more awareness about the advantages of study abroad are needed.
