The Erasmus programme continues to be an important part of the University of Tübingen's internationalization strategy. Erasmus agreements often flank research cooperation with strategically important international partners. On the one hand, they serve to publicize this research partner within the university and, at the same time, offer easier access, e.g. via teaching and staff exchanges. The opening of the Erasmus program towards Short Term Mobility and Blended Mobility will certainly strengthen this function. At the same time, the Erasmus program in Tübingen has the task of promoting cooperation in international networks such as the research network 'The Guild' and the EUN network CIVIS. Since 2019, the University of Tübingen has been involved in CIVIS under the leadership of the Universitée d'Aix-Marseille, which is also part of the Erasmus program. Since then, the CIVIS partner universities have been specifically promoted for exchange via Erasmus measures, and the mobility figures to and from these universities have increased since then - despite the coronavirus slump.
