Objectives

The SDI München (Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut; Institute of Languages and Interpreting) is a non-profit educational institution with many international connections. The main focus of the degree courses offered at the Professional College of Translation and Interpreting (Fachakademie für Übersetzen und Dolmetschen) and the International University SDI München (Internationale Hochschule SDI München) is language and translation in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and Turkish, as well as culture, media, business, and communication. Our students are encouraged to put into practice what they have learned by studying abroad at one of the many European partner institutions participating in the Erasmus program. Specifically, for our university students, a semester abroad is mandatory, while for our college students, it is optional but highly recommended. The SDI München has an international flair with students from all over the world attending lectures, participating in events on campus, and spending time together in our lunchtime bistro and exploring Munich. Establishing a strong Erasmus community is a very important institutional objective at the SDI München.
