The Merz Akademie, University of Applied Arts, Design and Media participated in the Erasmus+ project year 2021 with measures for staff mobility for teaching and training and for student mobility for studying. In addition, as the coordinating institution, we carried out a blended intensive program to gain initial experience with short-term mobility formats and to give students access to the Erasmus program at this level as well. The aim of the project was to expand the international dimension by increasing the number of international lecturers (incoming and outgoing), to intensify the number of study mobilities abroad (outgoing), to enable international collegial exchange and further training at staff level and to broaden contact with international partner universities. The university promotes internationalization in particular by regularly involving international lecturers in teaching, through cooperation projects between lecturers, e.g. in artistic research, and by supporting students who wish to study abroad.
