Objectives

Despite a number of administrative and technical hurdles, the KA 131 project (call 2021) was implemented successfully. The extended contract period of 36 months gave students and university staff greater flexibility in planning stays abroad - especially for planned stays, which had to be repeatedly postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, it was possible to postpone stays or even start them at short notice during the lecture-free period (e.g. Erasmus internships). In accordance with the mission statement (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) and the principles of the internationalisation strategy of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, every interested student at the University of Würzburg should be able to spend time abroad as part of the Erasmus programme. A study-related exchange period is defined as an essential part of every high quality-degree programme. Thus, it should train the respective students both academically and (inter-) culturally.
