Objectives

The goal of the project is to enable students in particular to complete part of their coursework at a European partner university without increasing time to degree, thereby allowing them to acquire intercultural and personal skills in addition to academic qualifications. The project further seeks to foster connections among employees and teaching staff in Europe and promote their continuing professional development. These efforts take place in the context of educating global citizens (cf. Mission Statement for Learning & Teaching, 2018) on the one hand, and promoting lifelong learning (cf. Mission of the University of Freiburg, 2023) on the other. Due to its scope, which allows it to be anchored in all departments, Erasmus+ occupies a key position within the various mobility programs at the University of Freiburg (UFR). It makes it possible for students to tailor the content of their studies abroad to precisely fit their needs. The in-person study abroad experience is a central component of international education at UFR. International learning and teaching go hand in hand with a globally networked university that embraces a global perspective in all of its dimensions and sees internationalization as a driver of innovation.
