The main aim in project 2021 was to introduce the new Erasmus+ generation at TH Köln and usher in a return to normalcy in mobility in spite of an ongoing pandemic. Having obtained the new ECHE laid the foundation to introduce a new funding logic and renew cooperation with partners. Being part of a KA2 project with the goal of making mobilities more sustainable, TH Köln welcomes the additional financial support for green travel and immediately began raising awareness amongst students and staff, partially with the support of the local Erasmus initiative. The prospect of being able to better support students with fewer opportunities by being able to take over more costs has been highly appreciated. The new mobility formats of Blended Intensive Programmes and international mobility were met with great interest from faculty but required initial alignment with the university’s mobility portfolio. Introducing these new opportunities while managing the initial difficulties of the programme and a changed reality for many students returning to a sense of normalcy has been challenging. However, comparing the situation at the onset of the project and the developments and effects at its closure confirms the benefits of these efforts.
