Paderborn University (UPB) has been participating in the Erasmus programme for many years. The Erasmus+ project 2021 was characterised by both a continuation and further development of already existing and new partnerships (increase of IIAs) and an introduction of the format of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) under challenging conditions (COVID-19 pandemic). By offering BIP and short-term blended mobility for outgoing students, we aim at both fostering the mutual cooperation with specific partner HEIs and enabling students to participate in a short-term study programme abroad, especially in study areas with limited mobility possibilities. With Erasmus+, UPB aims at making quality stays abroad possible for its students by helping them financially and organisationally. Study fields that include languages form the main focus group: French, English, Spanish Studies (Bachelor/Master of Arts or Bachelor of Education, International Business Studies, European Studies etc. Spain, France, UK, Ireland, and the Scandinavian countries form the majority of the targeted countries. The most important mobility groups in the Erasmus+ project 2021 are SMS and SMP. ST and SMP play an increasingly significant role at UPB together with BIP.
