As part of the project, Esslingen University pursued the goal of intensifying and deepening its existing partnerships with institutions and individuals in the Erasmus project, as well as establishing new ccooperations. The focus of the measures was on increasing the international professional skills and intercultural competence of students and teachers. Intercultural learning should be integrated into studies and teaching. The number of students, teachers and staff members with experience abroad should be significantly increased and at the same time internationality should be promoted in all units of the university. The reduction of linguistic, organizational and financial barriers to mobility was a particular concern in the project. When establishing new university collaborations, the focus was on excellence, subject equivalence and a welcoming culture. The participation in the Erasmus+ program is a central component in achieving these goals. The principles of the Bologna Process are applied to contribute to the EU-wide recognition of higher education qualifications.
