Objectives

For the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU), the Erasmus+ programme provides the platform on which the majority of internationalisation activities in Europe are carried out. Erasmus+ is an integral part of the university's own internationalisation efforts and has become an integral part of everyday university life. A wide range of attractive international exchange and double degree opportunities at partner universities worldwide is indispensable for the KU in competition with colleges and universities at home and abroad. It is essential to be able to send our own students, lecturers and staff to attractive partner universities in every corner of Europe and to facilitate international exchange and intercultural encounters "at home" by enabling students and staff staying here to meet exchange students and colleagues from our partner universities on our own campus. The opportunity for students to gain international work experience within the framework of Erasmus+-funded internships abroad and thus also to gain experience abroad outside of university life is also an integral part of the KU's international orientation. The program goals were successfully achieved despite the challenges of the pandemic.
