Thus, TransACTION! developed a hub with a media-repository area that supports the sharing and reuse of media for learning in higher education.
TransACTION! aimed at developing and up-scaling effective media-based learning strategies and resources in Europe Higher Education (HE). Since the onset of the Covid-19 crisis in 2020, the demand for research, training, and the exchange of best practices in creating and utilizing media-based learning resources has grown significantly. High-quality and research-driven teaching and learning concepts that incorporate media have become increasingly vital in HE due to their intrinsic value and impact in teaching and learning. Media plays a pivotal role in fostering flexible and personalized online learning, conveying information, stimulating engagement, and supporting innovative teaching strategies. The rapid shift to large-scale online teaching raised critical questions about implementing effective, media-based approaches, requiring evidence-based and practical strategies and tools. TransACTION! addressed these needs by supporting university teaching centers, academic staff, educational technologists, and media professionals. It also engaged policy-makers to promote the adoption of media-based learning initiatives at regional, national, and European levels, driving innovation and scalability in HE.
