Objectives

Our participants have been very much effected by the pandamic situation and found themselves in isolation after lock-down. After more than 30 years successfull working with unemployed people, we had difficulties to renew the contact to different target groups and bring them back to activities for their future. For this, it was our interest to learn more about methods to create motivation for lifelong learning and to overcome the pandemic effects, especailly for elder people. On the other hand the pandemic also had effects on our staff , which also had to deal with isolation and different working conditions in the pandemic time. For them it was a challenge to motivate themselves and their participants. We know, that European projects always create new ideas, motivation and reflection, and help to implement new methods and change processes. This was also our motivation to create this project. This aspects were the reason to participate in this program and create the project together with our European partners. The main objectives were: - Learn from the experiences of European partners in similar situations and develope new methods together - Motivate seniors to take part in learning activities

Background

Praxis GmbH is a non profit enterprise, which offers social work and qualification for longterm unemployed, often elder participants. Main objective of all projects is the reintegration of unemployed people in labour market. Therefore we offer support in overcoming individual obstacles such as addiction, other psychological deaseses, social problems, homelessness or other. Since its inception, Praxis GmbH has been involved in different European projects, for example Erasmus expert and participants exchanges, IdA (Internship for young unemployed people). Praxis GmbH is longterm partner of the European Network REIN ( Réseau Européen pour l'Insertion Sociale et Professionnelle des Personnes Défavorisées, Brusseles). During pandemic, the paedagogical staff of Praxis GmbH tried to held contact to the participants and to give support and motivation, using technical equipment like tablets and smartphones, but there was a leck of personal meetings, which was particulary difficult for older ones. This effects of the pandemic are still being felt.
