Due to the pandemic, students’ motivation has decreased. International exchange and working on projects internationally helped to raise students’ motivation, made them aware of the importance of practical learning and they benefitted from experiencing similarities and differences regarding education in different countries. By this project, we strived to engage IT students to enhance their intercultural-, English- and IT skills. In view of globalization, young IT specialists will have to work internationally for which we wanted to prepare them. Internationalization has also been pushed to the background. Therefore, we intended to continue cooperation with our partners so that internationalization will become part of our curriculum. Furthermore, the pandemic showed that digitalization is key in today’s working world. To foster digitalization in our school, we chose a SL partner who has already implemented VR in vocational studies. This project enabled our students to experience this first-hand at the partner school by participating in workshops/practical training in fields of IT (VR-workshop, workshop on server security, etc). Partners could benefit tremendously from intercultural trainings. SL parner also benefited from visiting us
