Objectives

1. The 4Talents program significantly bolstered the confidence of young adults from disadvantaged groups, particularly in their ability to navigate future employment challenges. The value placed on future career prospects increased, and participants were prompted to conduct a thorough self-assessment of their skills and abilities. These results were evident in the direct beneficiaries who participated in piloting sessions. 2. The 4Talents program has significantly increased the awareness of educators about the importance of understanding the employability process and its broader connections to issues beyond the integration of disadvantaged young adults. This heightened awareness, which emerged from professionals working directly with disadvantaged young adults in the community and indirect beneficiaries participating in the sharing of the 4Talents program, has made educators more knowledgeable and prepared. 3. The 4Talents program in Europe led to a significant improvement in the level of specialized educators and their trainers. They gained new knowledge in employability practices, particularly in identifying risk situations in disadvantaged young adults from communities. They also developed new abilities.

Background

Training for disadvantaged young adults is a critical step towards adulthood, unlocking employment opportunities and enabling full societal participation. Statistics show a direct correlation between lack of training and unemployment, dependency, and poverty, highlighting the need for lifelong learning. Without continual skill updates, individuals risk social marginalization. Existing education and training for unemployed persons, especially young adults with specific needs, are neither specific nor flexible enough, failing to meet labour market demands or encourage personal development. A major barrier to employment in this sector is a lack of motivation, as young adults often lack access to trainers who can recognize and develop their natural abilities and talents. Recognizing and developing these talents is crucial, as employment is the critical pathway to their reintegration and social inclusion. The 4Talents program is a beacon of hope for those navigating the challenging employment market and seeking vocational direction. It offers a unique approach, recognizing that individuals, even without formal qualifications, possess valuable life skills. By identifying and naming these skills, 4Talents empowers individuals.
