Objectives

COACH-IT develops a user-driven, evidence-based and recognised training program, that provides those that are active as coaches, with the knowledge, skills and competencies to develop their online coaching services, while at the same time ensuring (or increasing) the quality of the intervention and taking into account the needs of their clients.

Background

Project was designed to address the need of coaches faced with a new way of working and engaging with their clients due to COVID-19. All business was transfered online and previously coaching has been an activity done face-2-face. Hence, the vast majority of coaches were not prepared to offer quality services online. They were missing skills to engage with individual or teams/ groups. COACH-IT addressed exactly that need and beyond. Based on the feedback collected in the initial stages of the project, we have discovered that there were other skills unaddressed, such as wellbeing, data privacy, confidentiality, etc. Those have been incorporated in the course developed and made available via the learning platform. Not only that we have collated knowledge, we have created a platform where coaches have been enabled to engage with the technology that is currently shaping the profession: at the end of each module they have been invited to a guided reflection with the use of chatbots, both AI and decision based. That enabled coaches to explore how they could integrate technology even further in the services they are providing to their clients.
