Promoting networking and sharing of best practices among institutions across the EU active in the field of digital and educational technology. This collaboration should enhance the development of tailor made solutions adapted to the local challenges SMEs in the agro-food sector are facing in the digital transformation of their internationalization process. All project materials were coinceived ACCESSIBLE and INCLUSIVE both to people with poor digital skills and learning difficulties.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, various companies, especially SMEs operating globally, had to swiftly implement digital strategies to remain competitive. Two significant changes occurred in the internationalization process of SMEs in 2020: 1) the emergence of new digital business formats (e.g., virtual trade shows and B2B platforms); 2) the increase in companies' online presence. Digital marketing, distribution channels, and digital events represent significant opportunities to reach new clients in the global marketplace. However, individuals involved in promoting internationalization (e.g., export managers of SMEs, staff of export-supporting institutions, trade fair and event organizers) often lack these skills. Currently, these skills are not even part of the training for internationalization professionals. This project aimed to contribute to the upskilling and reskilling of individuals involved in SME internationalization and VET learners in the field of international commerce, with a focus on the agro-food sector. It aimed to teach them how to initiate or enhance the online presence of their company and how to create or participate in digital events, such as digital trade fairs, digital tastings, or digital B2B meetings.
