We wanted to learn the usage of the hardware (tablets, electronic pens, Connection between tablet and smartboard and printers) as well as to experience different software apps for tablets.) Different school subljects and groups of subjects need and apply different apps. We also wanted to know to what extent tablets and apps are suitable to carry out tests and examinations. In additon, we wanted to learn how tablets can be applied in the learning processes of different age groups. We planned a survey among staff, teachers and students about their assessment of the advantages of tablet usage, in order to receive a broad basis for assessing a future digitalzation of our school. By the time we carried out our job shadowing we had been equipped with tablets as well. for that resaon we enlarged the survey to our school, meaning that we were able to compare the assessment of tablet usage in both schools.
Not only but especially in the time of the pandemic with closed schools we experienced that we were able to communicate with students, colleagues and the administration in many different digital ways. But there were very different conditions available in software and hardware abpplications and tools . From a school partnership we knew the Spanish school ,which we had visited before, and their modern and comfortable digital equipment with tablets. Our school board had announced to equip students and teachers with tablets soon and that was the reason why we wanted to do this project to learn from the knowledge, skills and experiences of that school in order to profit for our school.
