Objectives

The COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted many people’s mental health and created new barriers for those already struggling with mental illness and substance use disorders. Additionally, young people were forced to forgo the opportunity for real-life relationships, and this isolation left a negative impact on their mental health. As a result of the pandemic, there was an increase in the number of young people with long-term conditions who experienced high levels of physical inactivity and social isolation, making innovative and effective treatments more necessary than ever. The project aimed to unite several young people from different countries and backgrounds. The main goal of the project was to equip youth with knowledge, skills, and attitudes on how to address mental and physical health issues and strengthen youngsters in their own community. The specific objectives included promoting mental and physical lifestyles among the youth during and after the pandemic, increasing self-empowerment and self-esteem by teaching them how to take care of their mental and physical health on a daily basis, raising awareness among young people about the importance of physical and mental healthcare, promoting alternative physical and mental activities as a more convenient and attractive way for youth to maintain their health, strengthening soft skills to improve the ability to recognize and manage personal and other people's emotions, achieving a deeper understanding in society of people facing mental health problems, reducing the stigma of mental health issues, and raising awareness of their importance in society
