Driven by the desire to learn more about this topic we found out that tolerance represented a global problem, Societies were undergoing a deep transformation which gave the opportunity for dialogue and change but even in 2022 the minorities, refugees and people with different beliefs or skin colour are being rejected by many. We sow diversity being rejected as a source of weakness and in this context, tolerance must be more than indifference and passive acceptance of others, it must be seen as an act of liberation, whereby the differences of others are accepted as the same as our own. The basic motivation for carrying on ‘Youth & Tolerance United’ came from the following reasons: • Huge interest of our participants, young people involved in our activities and volunteers in the partner organisations to address all forms of discrimination; • Develop intercultural competencies of young people enabling them to effectively communicate and work with people from other cultures; • Motivation from the Bulgarian partner ‘Youth Senate Bulgaria’ to continue working with the topics of democratic values as tolerance, equal rights, human rights and active citizenship. The main aim of the youth exchange ‘Youth & Tolerance United’ was to directly enhance intercultural competencies (cultural awareness, tolerance, communication and cooperation in intercultural environment) to 42 participants out of which 21 participants were participants with fewer opportunities coming from the following 7 European Countries: Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, Turkey, and North Macedonia. In order to reach the main aim we set the following main objectives: • Address the problem of lack of tolerance in European level and to raise awareness about this problem in partner organisations countries, and spread it internationally. • Enable the participants to effectively communicate and work with people coming from different cultural backgrounds, including people representing minorities, refugees, asylum seekers. • Produce information tools for spreading the knowledge gained at the youth exchange (Web blog, Booklet of activities, video interviews and photographs). • Increase participant’s knowledge of Erasmus+ Programme as a way of supporting intercultural learning. • Strengthen the cooperation between partners and to support the development of new ideas under the Erasmus+ Programme. While reaching the main aim with the main objectives this youth exchange accomplished side goals as: • Improving digital competencies mostly by making and editing videos and photos; • Developing the citizenship competencies by directly facing the problem of discrimination and diversities. • Improving organisational skills of participants by preparing the final event of the youth exchange
