Objectives

The Baltic Youth Exchange “Reeuropize” invited young people from around the Baltic Sea to an intercultural exchange and to discuss European issues and the situation of youth in Europe "after" the Covid pandemic. 41 young people from all over the Baltic region participated in the project in Haus Rothfos in Mözen. During week the project to focussed on youth and youth participation in Europe and in the participating countries in the light of the Corona pandemic. European countries were heavily affected by the pandemic and there was a shift towards national actions. The strength of European cooperation was almost forgotten. In addition young people experienced an unprecedented change in their lives and young people´s needs and opinions were hardly taken into account. However, the fastforwarded digitalization made communication easier and networking of young people became in some ways easier. At the same time, digital encounter cannot replace physical meetings but can only be an addition. The Baltic Youth Exchange "Reeuropize" aimed at this discrepancy. The exchange wanted to encourage and strengthen youth participation in Europe after the pandemic and tackled the following questions: - What were and are the challenges during and after the pandemic? - How has Europe and European cooperation among young people changed? - What are young people´s needs (after the pandemic)? - How can young people make their voices heard? These questions were worked on during the exchange creatively and interactively. In addition, intercultural exchange was a focus of the Baltic Youth Exchange.
