Objectives

The project aimed to address the challenges that young people encountered when attempting to enter the labour market. The transition of young people from education to the labour sector has become increasingly difficult due to the severe economic crisis exacerbated by the well-known Coronavirus pandemic. Developing the project concept was an effective tool that enabled the speedy resolution of this problem because it was clear that ICT tools and social media were the most preferable and easily accessible resources for young people. At that time, young people had constant access to the internet and were experienced experts in managing the social media they belonged to. However, young people had not always used these tools in a safe and responsible way, which led to serious problems, not only in terms of the safety of privacy but also by harming their online reputation. This, in turn, prevented them from becoming job candidates on the labour market. Various social networks and web platforms had been searched by different companies and enterprises to find suitable job candidates. Against this background, young people seemed to be unaware of the importance of protecting their own reputation on the Internet, especially when looking for job opportunities. Hence, the project was designed to meet all the challenges that young people face and provide them with well-equipped knowledge to gain all the skills and competencies that were methodologically innovative and experienced. These approaches became the reason for the active strive of young people to fortify their employability to gain appropriate jobs. All these basics made the project's general objectives clear, which aimed to promote youth employment by strengthening the use of online tools in social media to build up an online identity. To be more precise, the following objectives were presented: Raising awareness to promote the usage of ICTs and social media as tools for job recruitment and support the responsible utilization by young people to access the European labour market. Exploring the idea of Online Identity and Reputation, getting to know how to create and maintain a good online reputation. Exploring and experiencing non-formal education methodologies (Online counselling) and other interactive, peer-to-peer tools to be used in youth work, adapting them to young people's specific needs and creating new ones.1) Raising awareness to prompt the usage of ICTs and social media as tools for job recruitment and support the responsible utilization by young people in order to access the European labour market 2) Exploring the idea of Online Identity and reputation, Getting to know how to create and maintain a good online reputation 3) Exploring and experiencing non-formal education methodologies (Online counselling) and other interactive, peer-to-peer tools to be used in youth work, adapting them to young people for specific needs and creating new one.
