Objectives

The project goal is to strengthen the capacity of partner organizations to undertake human rights education (HRE) efforts (e.g. training, awareness campaigns, information dissemination etc.) with a view to contributing to social changes in their communities. The project was designed to provide participants with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge on human rights and human rights education, as well as to create a space for communication and further cooperation of youth workers from the partner countries. The project aims to promote human rights values among the young people and their communities, to inspire actions on human rights promotion, international solidarity and to support an active and free discussion on human rights issues. Participants will have opportunities to learn about good practices of human rights education and adjust their competences in developing HRE activities. Objectives: The objectives of the project are: - to raise awareness of youth workers on human rights standards, principles and values through examining written sources (speeches of prominent human rights activists and case law of the European Court for Human Rights); - to encourage participants to reflect the situation with human rights on the local, national and international levels and to be pro-active in demonstrating solidarity with those who fight for human rights; - to assist participants to identify ways in which human rights education can increase the effectiveness of their human rights work and help them to develop HRE activities for their communities; - to create space for developing the competences of youth workers in the field of HRE based on the quality criteria laid out by the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education; - to provide participants with NFL tools and methods for conducting effective HRE activities offline and online; - to help participants to create ideas for their future work in their organizations and communities to stimulate a “multiplier effect” when participants of the training bring received knowledge to their organizations/communities.
