We wanted to gather, evaluate and describe certain non-formal education methods that have been widely used in the field for years. We attempted to explain the philosophical, social and pedagogical concepts that underlie each method and to present the context and the proper way of how these methods could (and should) be applied. Furthermore, there was a pressing need to assess these methods within the framework of Digitalisation. This reassessment and framing of the methods in their proper context, was supposed serve as a basis for a broader discussion about the concepts and aims of International Youth Work.
