The concrete objective was to bring together youth workers and to create a podcast as a useful tool to reflect on current topics and issues as defined by the 11 European Youth Goals. The creation of the podcast itself was meant to be an invauable informal learning opportunity, far away from being “teacher-like” and the best way to engage participants from different backgrounds. Through the different stages of the podcast implementation, participants have learnt to be aware of the impact of their opinions when shared, how to deal with the most important technical aspects of recording a podcast and to promote such a podcast through social media. Furthermore, the project represented a valuable opportunity to boost competence in foreign languages, with a significant improvement in cross-cultural communication skills for all the participants.
The underlying idea, which is pictured by the name “Sonic Bridges - EU Talks”, is to give a voice to the generations of Europeans that silently and resiliently have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, that have been living in constant concern for the future of our planet and that wants to fight to achieve equality on all levels. We wanted the voice of our participants to be the foundation to build back bridges between European different cultures, to eventually increase the sense of belonging to the European family through a podcast series.
