We wanted to implement better use of our local area in our teaching. We wanted to gain knowledge on how to research in STEM subjects We wanted to achieve greater knowledge of different cultues We wanted our students to achieve greater knowledge of them selves and personal growth.
The background of this project started with a preliminary meeting celebrating the 100th year of the return of Northern Schleswig to Denmark - and thereby celebrating cooperation between Denmark and Germany. Through this online meeting during COVID, we met Mr. Kruppa from Gymnasium Riedberg in Frankfurt am Main. We quickly found similar problems, similar opportunities, and areas of differences - all around the forest areas of both Frankfurt and Skørping. Here in finding common ground on visits in both areas. Skørping Skole is placed in Rold Skov, a large forest in Denmark. We use the forest a lot in our primary school department, but wanted to become better at using it in better ways in our lower secondary department. Both in STEM subjects, but also in creative ways and in languade subjects.
