Objectives

In order to succeed with a higher degree of attractive international activities for our students, we first needed to gain knowledge among our teachers, student coordinators and managers about social and health care education in other EU countries. We wanted to carry out a number of employee exchange stays, where our teachers, student coordinators and managers experienced how education in our areas is carried out in other EU countries. The exchange stays have included both job shadowing at schools and visits to training companies. we have also succeeded in getting students to go on exchange stays in this project.

Background

Internationalization is one of the focus areas in the school's strategy and this track is in the strategy called "International view on SOSU STV". We believe that the attractiveness and quality of our programs can be strengthened by a greater international influence on the school. We want more of our students to have the desire and opportunity to spend part of their school and/or training periods abroad. With this project, we wanted to establish more collaborative relationships with similar educational institutions in Europe. In the same way, we want to be open to visits and for students from other countries to stay at our school, whether they want to experience the school or internship opportunities in our admission areas. We want to expand our horizons regarding work and education within the social and health care area by being inspired by how schools and workplaces in other EU countries work with the social and health care field - both academically and pedagogically. In this project, we have focused on gaining a broader understanding of how the education programs in our fields are structured in other European countries.
