This project aimed to develop ecological awareness and aimed to show that participants could avoid tomorrow the mistakes that we still made today. Despite the fact that there were lots of projects addressing environmental problems, especially recycling, it was still not enough, and people who lived in deplorable conditions needed support in solving environmental issues, which were harmful effects of human activities. This project aimed to give and create opportunities for young people to find out why environmental protection was important and why we needed recycling. With this project, we wanted to promote recycling, since it was good for the environment. Since we were saving resources and sending less trash to landfills, it helped in reducing air and water pollution. Raising awareness on energy saving and putting the importance of it as a way to reduce the future effects of global warming. The statistics from the World Health Organization showed that every year air pollution killed about 6.5 million people worldwide — linked to everything from lung cancer to heart disease to strokes. It was an honest-to-goodness public health crisis. This project also aimed to promote environmental inclusion and to build a network among youth from different countries, encouraging youth to actively prevent pollution and spread information about environmental problems to the local community after the end of the project. With this project, we aimed to propose youth awareness of the issues and a greater stake in long-term sustainability. Based on this, project participants had the opportunity to work out their startup ideas, develop activities, and create an actual plan for their activities connected with environmental issues and ecology. Our project objectives were: - To provide the participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes on including young people in activities connected to environmental issues. - To give them a place to share experiences and examples of good and bad practices by methods of non-formal education and learning from each other. - To increase awareness of youth about pollution and its consequences. - To brainstorm ways how to solve environmental problems in each country. - To share opinions, approaches, experiences, and knowledge on environmental situations and issues in the participating countries. - To emphasize the importance of recycling. - To promote healthy lifestyle activities for young people in terms of environmental protection. - To raise awareness about recycling through artistic activities and workshops among young people. - To raise awareness about social entrepreneurship. - To encourage young people to be actively involved in the decision-making process regarding the protection of the environment in their home countries.
