Objectives

The purpose of this project was to enhance the knowledge and professional capabilities of our partners network in implementing role-playing-based simulation activities. Simulations can be a powerful tool and method for engaging youth with diverse backgrounds and levels of education. However, successful execution of these simulations requires a high level of skill from facilitators. The larger the group and the longer the simulation, the more important it is for the facilitator to have expertise in leading, directing, and maintaining motivation within the context of drama and acting. To address this need, we developed a training course that focused on building better knowledge and sensitivity in preparing, energizing, motivating, and managing large groups of youth from various cultures. The goal was to empower us with the skills and confidence to create a safe space, help participants step out of their comfort zones, maintain momentum, provide conflict resolution, and conduct effective debriefing. The training included a hands-on simulation experience, which allowed us to apply these skills and techniques in a real-world setting. Objectives: - To become better at facilitating large groups of youth with different national and cultural backgrounds - To learn how to inspire a group of people to be active in a roleplay simulation - To learn to implement civic and socially oriented theater methods and facilitate effective and innovative drama techniques - To learn how to set up a framework for optimal performance in a simulation. - To make roleplay simulations a staple method in each partner organizations youth work strategy
