The project targeted operators, educators, and mediators aiming to develop innovative and sustainable tourism paths to enhance green territories. Its objectives included: General Objectives: OG.1:Create skills improvement paths, improving accessibility and increasing the adoption of adult education OG.2: Addressing digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capabilities (Horizontal) Specific Objectives: OS.1: Equip stakeholders with skills in educational tours, theatrical, and digital storytelling. OS.2: Co-create marketable green education products and sustainable trends. OS.3: to develop products through international experiences, promoted by a strategic partnership with organizations with complementary expertise in theatre, design and digital programming, storytelling and tourism, who are able to apply methods to present environmentally friendly solutions in cities from Denmark, Germany, Spain, Italy and Cyprus. OS.4: Share best practices through training, project meetings, and multiplier events to reach local and European audiences.
Cities have always been centers of change, from ancient civilizations to the industrial revolution. Today, almost 75% of the EU population lives in urban areas, and this number is expected to rise globally. Urbanization presents significant environmental challenges but also offers opportunities, as cities are hubs of creativity and innovation. Compact cities are resource-efficient, and new technologies can enhance sustainability in transport, construction, and energy use. The quality of life and branding as "green," "creative," or "cultural" are key to attracting residents and businesses. G&PS addresses these challenges through educational tourism, combining training and travel to promote local innovations, sustainability practices, and community efforts while fostering connections across Europe. By emphasizing green education, sustainable urban development, and creativity through digital expertise and storytelling, G&PS supports the European Commission's vision to protect cultural and natural heritage, enhance cohesion, and promote innovative solutions for sustainable urban living.
