Objectives

The overarching goal of the "Cooperative Partnerships for Capacity Building in VET" project is to enhance the quality of vocational education and training (VET) by supporting the professional development and empowerment of teachers and school leaders. The primary objective of the project is to build capacity in VET by empowering teachers and leaders to embrace leadership for learning and to engage in professional learning activities..

Background

The project "Cooperative Partnerships for Capacity Building in VET" addresses the ongoing challenge of making vocational education and training (VET) a first choice. Its primary objective is to enhance the quality of VET by supporting the professional development and empowerment of teachers and school leaders. As an organizational resource for school development, capacity building aims to enhance student learning outcomes and strengthen schools' ability to manage change. Thus, capacity building is a crucial response to meet the demands of a rapidly changing environment and the complex challenges of an increasingly diverse student population in VET. The project addresses the need for developing leaders' and teachers' professional competencies to handle the dual demands of being both practically immediate and developing underlying principles and methods for solving new problems, all while focusing on student learning. The empirical founded knowledge of the project is the “DNA of leadership for learning” developed in the previous Erasmus+ KA2 project, "Leadership for Learning in VET." These findings align with the core concept of professional learning as a key approach to building capacity in schools (Timperley & Le Fevre, 2020).
