Objectives

There are no similar schools in Estonia with which to implement experiences and development activities. This project contributed to the modernization of modern dance, the creation of international relations and a network, and thus the enrichment of the Estonian dance scene through the acquired experiences. The aim of this project was to develop relations in the direction of Europe. The study migration to the KonCon and the NDT helped to create common visions, share values between different dance circles, broaden professional horizons and acquire new European teaching methods. International experiences encourage innovation, increase competitiveness and provide an opportunity to cope better in the intense professional competition. The students had a vision by seeing and experiencing the possibilities of further education and the labor market in one of the strongest dance centers in Europe, which combines both a school and an already working professional dance theater. Participation in professional championships is necessary for students because there may not be students of equal level in Estonia at their age to study. In Riccione, students could test themselves in world competition.

Background

The content of the project was to learn new dance techniques and methodologies from foreign teachers, develop international relations, contribute to integration and create contacts for the future to create joint projects. The former Tallinn Ballet School had worked closely with Russia, Finland and Latvia. The desire was to expand the cooperation network in the direction of Europe, so that the opportunities for studying the specialty would be professionally more versatile, more modern, and new European methodologies would be used. From 1.09.2022, the former Tallinn Ballet School is a part of Tallinn Music and Ballet School (MUBA), which is a state school managed by the Ministry of Education and Research. MUBA is unique in all of Estonia in offering basic education, high school education, vocational secondary education and, by integrating vocational education with general education, in-depth music and ballet studies. The school also has preschool, preliminary and continuing education. Tallinn Music High School, Tallinn Ballet School and G. Ots School of Music came together in MUBA. The most important task of the school is to bring together music and dance education talents from Estonia and elsewhere. The study period is 8 years.
