Objectives

The aim of this project is to: Enrich the knowledge of trainers/counselors in the field of adult education with new knowledge and tools in the field of ECE, aimed at strengthening sought-after skills in young refugees. Highlight the crucial role of ECE in the social integration of immigrants/refugees. Identify, adapt, and apply tools in educational/counseling programs and in organizing professional workshops with modern European standards, with the ultimate goal of social integration of refugees and immigrants, which is a pan-European issue. Equip trainers with innovative practices in services and techniques to promote employment. Strengthen the European and intercultural identity of the organization and its employees.

Background

The non-profit organization IASIS supports refugees/asylum seekers through a daily network of psycho-educational programs, cultivating their social skills and empowering their profile as active citizens, while also providing training in various educational themes and offering counseling and vocational guidance. However, there is a great need for specialized tools: the target population is quantitatively increasing while their status is becoming more complex. The staff and trainers of IASIS require training in innovative practices of vocational education/training and counseling for immigrants/refugees, to enhance their skills with sought-after skills that will help them integrate into society and employment. The goal of the COMINC program is to strengthen employees, trainers, and executives in the field of active education and training (AET) and promote techniques for the employment of young adult refugees and immigrants in the labor market. This can be achieved by providing good practices in the field of AET and informing interested parties about promotion and employment techniques in the labor market.
