Background

1o Protipo Gymnasio Mytillinis is a small Junior High School in Mytilene, the capital city of Lesvos island. The school has been converted to a Model school three years ago. Our school is providing secondary general eduction to students aged 12 to 15 years old. It numbers about 160 students and the school staff is 26 teachers and the principal. We are a public school open to all the children of the island after having exams. Students and teachers are active in many fields and do various school projects, national and european, concerning culture, nature, the Arts, health matters and science and participate in student competitions and conferences. Our school is open to the society and to collaborations. At a time when our school takes the sustainable development topic very seriously by developing several ecological actions, our experience in European partnerships has made us want to see what other European countries have put in place through 4 partner schools in Spain, France, Italy and North Macedonia in order to share good practices. Moreover, our students who live an island have little opportunities to travel so such Erasmus+ projects are a wonderful opportunity for them to become more open-minded and open towards Europe
