with the participation in this project we wanted to : Identify the key features of STEM and STEAM; Define learning objectives that integrate STEM and Art & Design subjects to increase student engagement in learning; Connect and relate different subjects through creative STEAM activities, based on real-life and concrete experiences; Build an authentic STEAM lesson Trust the importance of play, fun, and engagement in learning; Incorporate art and design-related skills into the general learning environment and curriculum. From the other hand we wanted to combine technology with environmental education. ww wanted to acquire a holistic and systemic perspective toward your educative reality; Foster creativity and social environmental responsibility, regarding any of our daily decisions and actions as human beings in schools; Acquire dynamics and resources for non-violent communication, shared leadership, and group cohesion; Introduce ecological thinking in our mental framework and educational planning; Facilitate the transition to education in values, and improve the quality of our inner well-being, and our community.
For the last 5 years, our school has continuously participated in European Erasmus KA2 programs. In total in 4 programs, 2 in progress and 2 completed and in fact in one of them with the role of coordinator. The two integrated programs were about green schools for a sustainable environment and stem combining it with a mathematical trip to Europe. As part of the green schools program, a recycling group called "garbage busters" was created and operates, which is responsible for the recycling of paper, plastic and aluminum, as well as a composter was built. Our school is constantly running activities that contribute to experiential learning and student and community engagement in collaborative learning settings. He participates in the actions of ecological schools as well as in coastal cleanups (Mediterranean SOS). Some of them are the participation in environmental programs carried out with the cooperation of the Municipality (creation of vegetable gardens, visits to environmental organizations and cooperation with ARCHELON), the participation in cultural and folklore programs again with the cooperation of the Municipality and various folklore and cultural collections.
