The main objectives of our project were: α) Strengthening the skills of the participants in the application of innovative teaching methods (creative writing-comic) to meet the needs of all types of students in the context of a democratic and inclusive school, in order to improve student performance and behaviour, to create a positive learning and educational climate and to reduce negative behaviours (b) personal development of the participants and improvement of their academic qualifications, so that they are better able to fulfil their educational role in a rapidly changing educational environment. (c) Upgrading of the school unit by broadening the use of digital tools and strengthening its European perspective.
The 2nd General Lyceum of Chalkida, founded in 1939, belongs to the Secondary Education and covers a wide area of the Municipality of Chalkideon. It has 3 classes with 18 sections of 25-28 students and has Computer and Science Laboratories, as well as lending "libraries" per room. It also has a music and drama group. Teachers aim, alongside the acquisition of the knowledge required by students for university admission and vocational rehabilitation to cultivate students socially, spiritually and morally, guiding them with values and humanistic ideals. For this reason, we aim at acquiring such supplies and skills as mental strength and empathy, respect for the whole and diversity, the cultivation of environmental awareness, intercultural education, European and universal consciousness, achieved through teaching and participation in activities and programmes. At the same time, the school's teachers aim to continuously improve their academic qualifications by participating in training seminars and European programmes.
