Objectives

Our 1st goal was to support teachers & school managers to improve their mental and spiritual health & to develop a strategy in stress and burnout resistance. We implemented the project with the goal to improve teacher’s mental and spiritual health, to give them the possibility of exercising control in stressful situations, to develop burnout resistance and to acquire more self-confidence & self-awareness, so that they could manage emotions & create a positive learning climate. Our 2nd goal was the digital transformation. We aimed for teachers to gain confidence in integrating innovative digital methods into their communication, collaboration & daily teaching, to create an attractive working \ learning environment that motivates students and facilitates communication and relationships. Our 3rd goal was to improve the quality of teaching & the enrichment of teachers` repertoire, because even the most experienced teachers have the need to know new ways of managing students, of shaping their classroom & of creating a positive learning environment. Furthermore, our aim was to make students aware of environmental problems and acquire green skills.

Background

The COVID-19 pandemic era and also the technological and socio-economic changes established a new school reality that changed the patterns both of communication and cooperation, influenced personal interaction and educational approaches, while teachers’ burnout and students’ stress rapidly increased. Relationships and communication between teachers, students and parents were shaken and severely tested. Implementing the project, teachers were professionally supported, they enriched their teaching repertoire, they acquired skills to deal with burnout; these new opportunities resulted a more reliable & acceptable educational procedure. In addition teachers had a professional profile based on digital tools integrated on the teaching procedure, communication & school’s administration. Moreover teachers training in innovative learning techniques resulted a positive working environment at school and also students benefited from these steps forward and had an additional learning motivation.
