Background

Our school is the 40th Primary school of Peristeri. We work with students aged 6 to 12 years old, coming from different socio-cultural backgrounds. Their families predominantly come from low economic and educational backgrounds and live in an area with high unemployment rates and economic difficulties that affect students' opportunities. At the same time, our school is attended by a large number of students of immigrant origin with a cultural profile different from that of our city, which requires special handling by our school's teaching staff. Therefore, the aim is to develop the cognitive, emotional and critical skills of our students through a series of educational programs that will highlight these objectives. Our aim is to expose students to art and culture through a variety of programmes related to painting, dance, theatre We give great emphasis on digital literacy through the teaching of ICT and web 2.0 tools. Finally, we try to give a European orientation to the learning process by carrying out e-twinning projects every year and by participating in Erasmus programmes such as the ones for 2022-23.
