Objectives

-to exploit the study of other cultures, different ways of behaviour and stereotypes within our school organisation, in order to ease tensions between different approaches and to create a peaceful climate of acceptance, respect and equality - to understand each student's needs, to equally treat all children and environmental awareness -to promote the concept of diversity through activities aiming to integrate each student in each group in the best possible way - to educate and "shape" citizens with an international identity, who will be able to claim the position they deserve in the international society and will be adequately equipped to defend their rights and assume their responsibilities. -to appreciate the value of each culture and each student who professes it, as being a person of unique value and personality, since every citizen has the right to maintain his/her identity within a differentiated society. - to learn New Technology skills

Background

The purpose of our project was the need for our educators to become more intercultural, to be in line with European standards and to re-structure the teaching methods and practices, by incorporating new innovative programs that will contribute to the inclusion of all pupils in the learning process, to their integration into school reality and to the acquisition of communication, solidarity, altruism and respect skills for the man kind and for the enviroment, through cross-curricular and interdisciplinary approaches (theatre , music, ICT, PE). This happens because, nowadays, the structure of modern societies is constantly being transformed and new compositions are emerging, that test the resilience and the effectiveness of existing data in different socio-political and cultural environments. Societies that until recently have been relatively homogeneous, are now faced with unprecedented challenges, to which traditional educational practices are of little benefit
