Objectives

The main aim of the Project was to familiarize the trained teachers with the way of implementing the Paperless School in the greek school so that they could apply the good practices in their own environment . Also, our aim was to create cooperative relationships with teachers from other countries, to improve language skills of the participants, through the use of eTwinning platform and Gateway School Education and to upgrade their professional profile through the Europass mobility certificates, and certificates of attendance. We also wanted to upgrade the role of the school, to create a long-term network of possible partnerships with Danish schools and organizations and to increase the school's extroversion. The Project finally sought to have multiplier benefits not only for the participants but also for other target groups through dissemination and evaluation, pushing more organizations to participate in European Projects.

Background

Environmental degradation and climate change are the most serious issues that our planet is facing nowadays. Faced with the challenges to stop the alarming rate of over-consumption of natural resources, the 7th Vocational School of Thessaloniki trained 5 of its teachers in the innovative "Paperless school" school organization model. The participants got to know firsthand how the consumption of paper in the school unit can be reduced to zero and at the same time how the achievements of today's digital age can be implemented. The 7th EPAL of Thessaloniki is a public Vocational school (http://7epal-thess.thess.sch.gr/) with several years of history and is housed in the building complex of "Efkleidis", in Thessaloniki. At the school, theoretical and laboratory courses are taught and the school participates in Activities and Projects, which contribute to the acquisition of experience in matters of research interest, training, education and management of school units.
