An important goal through the requested program is the contact of the students of DIEK Kavala with a European and therefore international working environment. A large part of the students of DIEK Kavala are people with reduced opportunities in vocational training and work experience and by extension in job opportunities in general. The DIEK Kavala is one of the few possibilities of obtaining a high level of work experience and training in order to have good prospects in the labor market in the future. Thus, through the transition abroad, the participants of DIEK Kavala will be able to carry out their practical exercise by acquiring cognitive and professional skills relevant to their industry. The benefits of such a program will not be limited to the simple assimilation of knowledge in a sterile manner by the participants, nor within the framework of DIΕK Kavala, as the knowledge and experiences that the participants will gain will accompany them in the general life.
DIEK Kavala is the largest IEK in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the third largest in Greece. Its areas of specialization are fully adapted to the needs and demand of the labor market, as shaped by the rapid pace that characterizes Greece and the rest of the European Union. The location of DIEK Kavala is a small urban center with limited extroversion and is included in the Greek province. Because of the location, students' access to education and its opportunities is limited compared to major urban centers, as is information and employment opportunities. The students of DIEK KAVALA are adult graduates of secondary education. Moreover, most of the students come from low economic and social strata, which turns into absolutely necessary training in their professional field to enhance the possibilities of finding employment through strengthening and building their curriculum vitae. This is one of the main reasons for participation in the program.
