Objectives

The University of Ioannina, recognized for its substantial national and international influence, actively fosters student and staff mobility, international cooperation, and multilateral partnerships. These efforts strengthen its position as a leading academic center in the Southern Balkans. The University’s academic community enjoys a strong reputation both in Greece and abroad, building collaborations through personal, professional, and academic networks, as well as through formalized channels such as international program calls and institutional partnerships. Mobility is promoted across all educational levels and for all members of the university community, under a policy of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable groups and minorities. In terms of student mobility, significant progress has been achieved at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including doctoral candidates. These initiatives have led to a notable increase in outgoing students, supported by a fair, transparent, and well-structured selection process in accordance with the National Authority's guidelines. At the same time, the number of incoming students has also grown, despite the challenge posed by the language barrier.
