The plastics sector (PS) is vital for the EU economy and its post-pandemic recovery. It employs over 1.6 million people through more than 55,000 companies. Advance Manufacturing Techniques (AMT) are gaining increasing importance for plastics sector, since they were especially useful to enable the agile manufacturing and uninterrupted supply chains. The implementation of AMT requires the need of workforce training and upskilling. The project focusing on addressing these needs, by offering a training methodology and tool for workers in companies in the PS, in order to adopt AMTs in the manufacturing process and to be used in a cost- and eco-effective way. VET trainers need a training methodology that is designed according to the industry needs. VET students need to be better prepared for their challenging future careers; be able to adopt and apply new techniques and technologies in their workplace; be able to manage and respond to changes in the workplace; acquire high-quality and recognized skills and competences. VET providers need to have updated and agile curricula. Industries and SMEs need personnel that can facilitate the adoption of AMTs.
