Objectives

We implemented this project, because, we wanted to give this wonderful experience to 43 young participants to spend time in Greece, to learn and experience other cultures with their peers. This group of young people from 8 European countries (Greece, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary & Poland) came together for the project: “SEED 2 Youth Employability”. The youngsters co-existed for 8 days in Selianitika, Western Greece, acquired and improved competences, and entrepreneurial, soft - transversal skills through workshops/activities of non-formal learning, to confront unemployment. These youngsters worked together with the methods of non-formal learning, took part in activities, sessions, workshops, and witnessed the benefits of collaboration, team-work, role play, peer learning, interaction & active participation. The aim of this project was to enhance entrepreneurship skills, competences for youth employability, to improve young people`s transversal & soft skills via sessions-workshops and art activities of non-formal learning. The participants acquired knowledge and skills to maximize their employability and, also, infuse them to their peers in their communities, who are often lacking employment chances, to empower them for the labor market. The learning outcomes (skills and competences) that the participants acquired and developed are useful and necessary for their everyday life, but not only. This European added value gained by this youth work for the participants was shared and transferred to local community they live, to their peers, to local NGOs to benefit the whole local society. The participants’ youth work is valuable and can be shared for example with the scout’s association, or with the students’ club in the University of Patras. The participants also had the possibility to meet peers from different European countries and cultures, meet new friends, share their learning outcomes in their home country. They also gained valuable life-skills and international experience to help them develop personally, professionally and to succeed in today's world. The participants developed self-guidance for improving their preparation to enter the professional environment and increased their future success in the labor market. Through this project, we empowered youth's skills, mitigating social inclusion, opting for society’s cohesion and European integration. This could include enhancing the potential of seeking of employment or breaking down the barriers of NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Young people. The project’s objectives: 1.To promote participants with social, entrepreneurship skills and team spirit, sharing experiences, exchange ideas, establishing quality partnerships with their European peers. 2. To improve youth social, soft, transversal skills, necessary for the labor market and competences, via innovative actions, in international workshops, of non-formal learning methods, raising participants’ awareness in international setting. 3. To utilize the concept of gamification on employment, so youngsters get accustomed to new employment hiring techniques. When gamification is coupled with recruitment, it is often termed as “recruitainment”. Candidates showcase their job qualifications, allowing the hiring team to assess their aptitude, creative thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. 4. To prepare the participants for a successful interview & CV, & train them in EURESS (tool for searching jobs). 5. To gain practical experience in tele-work, encouraging new forms of tele-work using new technologies and social media, after the COVID-19 Pandemic. 6. To motivate youth in street art workshops -related to unemployment and their future jobs- increasing their art, social skills and enhancing culture awareness. 7. To ensure exchange of experiences, creating a network with common activities, establishing quality partnerships with colleagues from Europe. 8. To bring together local youngsters, NGOs with social entrepreneurs, start-up companies, to create a network, and exchange ideas and experiences.
