Objectives

For the past year and a half, beginning at the start of the year 2020, we have been dealing with an unprecedented circumstance that has caused a significant amount of upheaval in our day-to-day lives. Others had to adjust to the new conditions of remote working and education; others were victims of domestic abuse; and tragically, those with disabilities were not appropriately assisted. While a lot of people passed away as a result of COVID-19, others had to adjust to the new conditions. As young people living in the European Union, one thing that we can take away from these events is the importance of making it our mission in life to participate as engaged citizens, to take personal responsibility for our actions, and to be aware of the human rights that we are entitled to and the ways in which those rights can be infringed upon, both in the event of an impending crisis and in everyday life more generally. The project known as "Pan Rights" will be devoted to the idea that in the year 2021, which will mark 70 years since the European Convention of Human Rights was drafted, there are still a lot of people who violate their rights and freedoms, and there are still a lot of people who ignore their rights and freedoms. Through the activities that it engages in, the Pan Rights initiative will help to make the conclusions of this Conference more widely known. Because of the way young people think, the world will continue to progress and become a more democratic and peaceful place. For this reason, it is essential for young people to be well-informed and to behave properly with regard to their human rights. This initiative is an effort to combat the lack of knowledge about human rights and the violations of such rights by assisting young people in developing the correct mindset. The goal of this endeavor is to lessen the likelihood that anything analogous will take place in the foreseeable future. The two words "pan" and "rights" were combined to create the name of this project. The concept of the second word is one that is well known to each of us. The first one is an abbreviation for the word pandemic, which means the pandemic rights, which refer to the rights that, during the time of COVID-19, were safeguarded, restricted, or even infringed. On the other hand, the word "pan" in ancient Greek meant everything or, even more accurately, each and every thing. And this is exactly what we want to accomplish through this project: not only do we want to make sure that young people become familiar with the rights that played a very crucial role in this unprecedented period, but we also want to make sure that they develop the appropriate incentives in order to be prepared to respond to a different crisis as active EU citizens in the future. The Youth Exchange "Pan Rights" had several goals that accomplished, including the following: - Educated people on human rights and active citizenship. - In order for them to be aware of and well-informed regarding this subject, we provided them with the incentives and tools necessary. - Provided a forum where young people from the participating nations can communicate with one another and share their experiences, thoughts, and suggestions for improving active citizenship and human rights. - Encouraged an understanding of diverse nationalities and languages within the youth groups, as well as stimulated intercultural dialogue and cross-cultural communication amongst the youth groups. - Improved the participants' "soft skills," such as their ability to communicate effectively in front of an audience, by engaging in a variety of discussions, simulations, and exercises. - Created an understanding of and respect for how drastically diverse the viewpoints of various cultures can be. - Provided the participants a sense of safety and helped them build their self-confidence so that they can become engaged in their local community and make a positive contribution to it. - Taught people how to run their own (social) initiative and make an influence in their society by providing them with the tools and fundamental information they need to do so. - Encouraged interactions and collaborations between young people living in Europe.
