Objectives

The main objectives of the project were to: Develop digital skills and competencies in 3D design and printing, particularly among young NEETs, including those with disabilities, to address societal and community challenges. Cultivate a social entrepreneurial mindset among the target demographic. Design and support the establishment of a "Social & Entrepreneurial Digital Hub" to foster community engagement and collaboration. Enhance the employability of young NEETs, thereby improving their ability to contribute actively to society and the economy, especially in the post COVID-19 context

Background

The motivation behind the project arose from the mounting number of young individuals throughout European nations, particularly in Italy, Greece, Spain, and Bulgaria, who find themselves in a state of neither being engaged in education nor employment or training, commonly referred to as NEETs. This demographic trend presents substantial social challenges, as NEET status frequently results in enduring unemployment and social marginalization. Of particular concern are the elevated rates of joblessness among young people in comparison to adults, the prevalence of substandard employment opportunities for the youth, and the markedly higher NEET rates among disabled youth. The ENTER project sought to address these issues by augmenting the digital and entrepreneurial competences of young NEETs, fostering increased community involvement and employability through the implementation of cutting-edge digital technologies such as 3D design and printing.
