Objectives

1. To improve the linguistic competence of our students and teachers. 2. To improve the management of spaces. 3. To promote the link between the school and the neighbourhood. 4. To extend the use of ICT in the classroom.

Background

Campanar Secondary School is a state educational centre which offers Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate. Built 42 years ago, it has gone from having an average of 400 pupils to almost 700. For all these reasons, although it is a centre of reference for the neighbourhood, it is an obsolete school in terms of facilities, antiquated and with overcrowded spaces. In terms of teaching, our school stands out for offering pupils two first languages: English and French, and for applying a multilingual teaching plan, in which at least one non-linguistic subject is offered in both languages. In terms of coexistence, it is a school that is involved in the integration of all its students and in the peaceful resolution of conflicts, through different programmes such as the mediation team or the inclusive and active playgrounds. It is also highly motivated to create links between the different members of the educational community (pupils, families and teachers), as well as with the main organisations in the neighbourhood. Our project arises from the need to improve the use of spaces, to promote inclusion and learning, to strengthen teachers' knowledge of foreign languages or CLIL, and to open up to the neighbourhood.
