The project had got different aspects to be fulfilled. Firstly, to develop teachers’ digital competence to promote a methodological change that improvdes students’ learning process and to make teachers conscious about this need. Generally, teachers didn’t use new technologies which could motívate students and to develop their digital skills was one of the key points to change their teaching process. Secondly, to promote the use of new technologies among students to overcome cultural, social and genre stereotypes. Students needed to be conscious about the reality that surrounded them and the stereotypes about people in their context. It was neccessary to use digital tools to develop their critical thinking as a way to motívate them and make them feel comfortable. This was linked to the objective of sharing experiences with other European students to discuss about inclusion and diversity in each context, broading that way their European consciousness. Lastly, to observe good practices in digitally-developed schools which could give us new ways to approach students. The visits to these schools with different methodologies helped us to see other teaching experiences and to include new technologies in our everyday teaching.
IES Vecindario was at the point of a methodological change and the way to approach the learning process. The pandemic creates the need to take a turn to teaching. Teachers just tried to give learning contents while students were in a different reality with new technologies. Besides, after the pandemic, social differences are more significant as the introduction of digital tools are spread, even at the school context. This is the point where this project was born: with the need to face new challenges to have a quality teaching and to develop social values. Thus, we proposed our teachers to acquire new resources and tools to improve their teaching process and to learn about new technologies. We selected a group of students to develop inclusion ideas and to overcome social differences caused mainly by digital divide. This 18-month-project has made the school IES Vecindario a school with quality teaching, with teachers eager to experiment in their lessons and with students motivated to work for their mates. And all of this within a digital framework and an opening of our school to the outside world.
