Objectives

The Montessori School stood out as one of the most efficient centers in Salamanca by successfully adapting to online education during the emergency period. As educators, our intention was to be pioneers by offering a comprehensive quality education that would allow our students to receive solid training, even at a distance or in a blended modality. We are facing a profound change in our society, where students demand completely different skills than those developed in the traditional classroom environment. One of the most devastating effects of the pandemic was its impact on students, many of whom have been negatively affected and need the support of both their teachers and their peers. Our main objective in this project was to strengthen the 21st century skills in our students, so that they could adapt to post-pandemic education. These were our specific objectives within the Erasmus+ program: -Acquisition of high-level digital skills. -Development of intrapersonal skills to strengthen self-esteem and self-awareness. -Implementation of key competencies. -Improvement and promotion of trilingualism.

Background

The Montessori School of Salamanca is an educational institution of international scope that, in its subsidized section, covers the levels of Infant, Primary and Secondary Education, while in its private section it offers programs for the initial cycle of Infant and Baccalaureate. It has a level 4 qualification in ICT certification and offers a trilingual education in Spanish, English and French. We constantly strive to improve our educational proposal. Our international offer includes exchange programs in the United States and France, as well as trips to London. These experiences encourage immersion in different languages and their practice in real situations. In addition, we are a Cambridge University Exam Preparation Center and a reference center for the American High School Dual American Baccalaureate, preparing our students to obtain this title. We carry out numerous activities for our students, with the aim of familiarizing them with the European Union and its educational work. At Montessori Salamanca we have a student community of 700 students between the ages of 2 and 18. Our students are curious and restless, and have initiative.
